How to restore access to mail due to lack of disk space on Mac?

Good afternoon!

Problem with outlook on mac os. When moving from pop3 to imap, they began to upload mail from the local computer to the imap server.

In general, outlook began not to transfer mail as on a PC, but to copy it to a new account, so that it would be synchronized from there and uploaded to the server (As I understand it) until it took up all the mac space and at the moment it can’t even open it, it immediately starts recovery and asks to make room for him on the railway.

Maybe someone faced such a problem. The mail is very large, somewhere around 150-200GB + he doubled it when they started transferring it from LAN to host. Is it possible to avoid losses and how?

As it turned out, it's better not to play with the memory of the poppy.
Backup time machines on the railway, on Windows through a virtual machine, they put a back, doubled the amount of memory and gave him the opportunity to finish everything to the end, then export olm and download to the main machine. The process took about a week.
