How to restore a file?

The essence of the question is how can I restore the ctx format file?
As it was ... there is a handy CherryTree notepad, it saves encrypted files in ctx format.
I ran CherryTree under Linux and Windows. And once Windows treated my file badly, simply overwriting it with 0.
I managed to restore the main ctx file, but the rest of the files with the prefix ~ , looks like this (ctx~ , ctx~~, ctx ~~~) remained overwritten in 0.
Which led to the fact that the password from the database no longer fits, although it is of course correct.
Help! Who knows what can be done! I will be grateful for any help, the file is very important.

Look in Windows:
Context menu of the file (and it is better to check for the folder where everything was) - Previous versions
if they are enabled and the files are there, you can copy at least some previous version from there.

ext2- you can try
ext3 ext4 - no way
And in most distributions, not just at the system level, but fundamentally buried 00000
In order for you to be able to restore files, you need to first install some utility to save them;)
