How to respond to "Your site contains information discrediting the honor of the company..."

The all-Russian catalog of companies (mainly plants, factories and small producers) with the possibility for users to leave comments on it. The site administration does not comment on anything. They call from the police (not department K) of Saratov, they say that the site has comments discrediting the honor of one Saratov company and ask them to remove comments about this company. How to respond to such requests? In what case is the administration obliged to remove information from the site?

I hope they sent you an official request by mail? And then anyone can call and introduce himself as the police on the phone ...
If there is an official request, then call your K department and ask about it, as suggested above.

You look at the comment and what is written there. It is now widespread that competitors are posting defamatory comments and testimonials that are completely untrue.
It is better to delete the negative, especially if the criticized person provides a refutation, for example, that there was no such situation as described in the review. A rebuttal may be in the form of an E-mail describing the situation.

After making claims, it is really better to remove the negative, otherwise, you may have to confirm it in court.

Department "K" asks for the registration data of the user who left this negative comment, ip, email, in general, everything that is. The data is requested to be provided “Based on the foregoing, in accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 6, paragraph 1 of Art. 15 No. 144-FZ "On Operational Investigative Activities", I ask you to provide us with the following information ... ".
Now I want to make sure that this is really Department K and that there is a criminal case going on. How can I be sure of this?

And speaking of which, why would a site like this that caters to businesses have the ability to comment without verifying their identity? In general, I am a supporter of disabling commenting on sites, especially in the LiveJournal of popular bloggers and YouTube, since people mostly write garbage, and if someone writes a smart comment, it cannot be found among the 99 bad ones.

By the way, is the site registered to an individual or a legal entity?
