How to reset root password in open-wrt?

There is an optical modem NTE-RG-1402F. It has x-wrt installed. Installing via ipkg requires root privileges
The root-root login-password pair is not suitable. How to find out/reset the root password.

By default, the password is empty. Changed at the first login via telnet/ssh with the passwd command

Have you tried resetting all settings using the RESET button?
Or 100% option, as already mentioned above, flash.

openwrt has a failsafe mode specifically for this purpose.

I join the issue! I have a TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND router, I can’t reset the password by any means ... Telnet does not connect via Putti ... failsave mode does not start either ... What else can you think of?
