How to reset Linux settings?
How to reset the settings to factory settings, or roll back to installing the application? Black screen issue after boot, can only boot via grub with rw single init=/bin/bash flags
Answer the question
In order to leave comments, you need to log in
add to kernel boot line
nosplash noquiet
nosplash disables pretty pictures when booting the kernel
noquiet disables silent mode i.e. the kernel throws out the entire boot log to the screen.
look in the log at what stage the download is stuck - googling further ...
plus linux - very talkative: a lot of things can be learned from the logs pouring from almost every part of the system
No way, Linux does not provide an out-of-the-box mechanism for resetting to factory settings.
Only reinstallation and then backup (backup of the entire disk via dd, of course, because there is no software for creating backups, like in Windows, either).
> The problem is in the black screen after loading
wangyu, this is not a problem, it's just wayland / Xserver did not rise.
check disk space, run fsck.
manually try to run gdm3/lightdm which by default works as a login manager for ubuntu.
