How to rename a user folder in Windows 10?

In general, I wanted to install a Linux virtual machine for testing web applications in an environment as close as possible to a real server. During the installation of Linux, I caught an error related to the Cyrillic name of the windows user folder, in my case "Alexander". I don't remember the exact wording, but something like Cannot create directory C:\Users\□□□□□\... .
I tried to rename the user folder through the administrator as described in this article https://remontka.pro/rename-user-folder-windows-10/ as a result, Windows swears that this folder is occupied by some process and cannot be renamed. Tried to turn off all processes in one way or another related to this folder through the task manager and the command line - it does not help. Maybe someone faced this and solved a similar problem?

Folders with Russian characters are evil.
There are a lot of programs that simply do not want to support Russian.
The clumsy option is to create a new user.
But in general it's easier to change the folder of the virtual machine. For example, C:\vm\Linux
Surely there is such an option in the virtual machine settings, look for it.

Your link is a working one.
But there may be nuances that are not described or you are doing something wrong.
All actions must be performed from a session of another user with administrator rights, it must be created or, as suggested in the article, unlock the standard Administrator and log in to them (preferably with a reboot).
In addition, in Win10, the process responsible for "streaming media" can keep the profile folder of an inactive user - thanks for this we can say to the wonderful mechanism of the "home group" or what is left of it now. It opens published media resources (it doesn’t matter which PC user published them and under which user you are currently working), while you yourself could not publish anything (I have personally encountered this many times), he just saw your music or movies and decided, that it can be published although no command has been received.
By any available means, find the process that holds the open folder and kill it, then you can safely rename the folder.
After renaming, some software may stop working or start to work incorrectly if it has full paths in the user registry in its registry (this was also mentioned by # ). Such problems will have to be dealt with as they are discovered.
