How to raise interface bonding on ubuntu 18.04?

I'm trying to raise the bond with the commands:

modprobe bonding mode=0 miimon=100
ifconfig bond0 hw ether 22:11:22:33:44:54

issues SIOCSIFHWADDR: No such device
I can't figure out what the problem is. Works great on 16.04
