Ubuntu on a tablet. Is it worth the wait?

Somehow I thought about buying a tablet ...
BUT there is one problem - I want Linux without Google overlays.
I'm waiting for spring, but over time, more and more questions appear - "is it worth waiting?" Or the project "didn't take off"?

A tablet is a device for consuming content, and Android does a pretty good job of it.
Ubuntu is an OS for full work, why is it on a device whose capabilities (small screen, only touch keyboard) will limit its scope by 90%?

If the tablet is on Atom, Ubuntu can be installed on it right now.

I am also waiting and waiting. And that's why I don't take the Nexus. In general, it would be very nice, but nothing is clear yet. Yes, and it is not known what else will be better - overlays from Google or from Canonical.

I am the owner of Nexus 10. I have Dual-Boot (Android + Ubuntu) on my tablet. I will say for sure: the moment when Ubuntu Touch becomes usable on tablets is not earlier than October 2014. That's for sure. The developers forgot about tablets, although they write that they are aimed at supporting them in 14.04. There is nothing in this direction. Applications are also created for smartphones. Mir on Nexus 10 is very raw, to say the least. Draw your own conclusions :) There will be questions - please contact.

MJ Technology is preparing a full-fledged Ubuntu tablet. It will also be possible to roll Ubuntu Touch, if necessary. Here are the details.
