RAID array from scratch or not?

Hello, such a question ... We have virtualization on ESXi and switch to KVM (ubuntu)
We have a raid array, and as I understand it ... It needs to be installed from scratch on ubuntu and the data cannot be transferred?
I may have misunderstood it, I'm sorry, this is the first time I've encountered a transfer. If possible, then articles or from personal experience, tell us how this happens.
I googled and something is unsuccessful...)

It still requires a certain amount of telepathy. "Let's go" - how is it? We leave the same server, the same disks, the same images of virtual machines stored on disks? Even if the hardware RAID remains intact and Ubuntu immediately understands it as a block device, the question is: will Ubuntu understand the file system? Probably won't understand. So the images of virtual machines are still pulled out of the backup.

Hmm... Swapping free ESXi (single server) for free KVM is not a good idea.
Change paid ESXi with buns like Live Migration - only in case of emergency (import substitution of blah blah for such tricks is still capable of).
RAID in ESXi is only hardware - if it is RAID, but do not confuse something. Hardware RAID supplies a certain abstraction to the upper level, called a RAID array, which is controlled only through its configurator, which usually starts on reboot (although there are Windows tools for reading information).
That is, if you have a real hardware RAID - he does not care what you have for the axis.
