How to properly set up hosting multiple websites in VMware containers under Ubuntu?

There is a dedicated Ubuntu server on which VMware is installed. I would like to insist on it hosting several web applications, each on its own domain, so that each application lives in its own virtual machine. In general terms, the work plan is clear, but I would like some detailed manuals or even tools for automating this.
I suspect that there is a lot of such information on the Internet, but either my google fu is weak, or I don’t ask questions like that ...
