How to properly configure RAID10?
Good day.
There is a RAID controller LSI M5015. It has 4 SAS drives IBM MBD2147RC 146GB and 4 SATA drives HGST HTE721010A9.
I want to unite separately one and separately others into RAID10 arrays. VMware ESXi will be installed on SAS disks, SATA will be used to store the virtual servers themselves. When setting up, the question arose of how best to choose a RAID10 configuration?
By default, the following settings are offered:
Strip size - 128 KB
Access Policy - RW
Read Policy - Normal
Write Policy - Write Back with BBU
IO Policy - Direct
Drive Cache - Disable
Disable BGI - No
Do you leave these settings or is it better to change some items?
Googled a lot of articles, but everywhere they write differently. And everywhere they write about setting up for regular operating systems, and not for virtual servers.
