How to prevent Kali from updating drivers for Radeon HD 6490M graphics card?
OS - Kali linux, Iron - HP probook.
It all started with the fact that I could not install anything at all with the apt-get install ***** command. It returns an error that it cannot know the ***** package, it seemed to look like this in Russian - E: For the ***** package * no installation candidate found. in English E: Unable to locate package *****. Who knows what to do with this?
I read a lot, searched ... from what I found, the problem should have been solved by adding sources to /etc/apt/sources.list and apt-get upgrade.
After that, as I understand it, the driver for the video card is also updated and when the system is rebooted, the graphical interface disappears.
A black window is launched and in the upper right corner it asks for login and password.
I thought that if you forbid updating the driver to the video card, the problem will be solved. How can I do this?
Does anyone know other solutions? Do I need to reinstall the system, or can I solve it from the terminal without a graphical one?
Thanks in advance!
