How to partition a drive to install Ubuntu and Windows 7 on the same hard drive?
Friends,
I want to install Ubuntu next to Windows 7. I use the manual https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmMkAGuZxCE , but the problem is that in Windows I have C, D and E drives. When installing Ubuntu I want allocate free space on D under Ubuntu, but gparted swears, because you cannot create more than 4 discs. How to install Ubuntu without deleting information from other disks?

Alternatively, create extended partitions rather than primary
You apparently already have 4 partitions: primary C, D, extended without a letter (since this is just a container) and logical E. You can only add partitions within extended, i.e. reducing the size of disk E.
For a more accurate description of what is happening there, we need to see the output of sudo parted -l /dev/sda
