How to make random appearance of letters?

Hello! Is it possible somehow quickly or easier to make the appearance of letters randomly?
That is, I have a background and a large number of letters and I need to make them appear randomly and over time the whole thing accelerates. The first 3-5 letters appeared in 2-4 seconds, and the rest, for example, 100 in 5 seconds.
You need them to appear in turn!

I tried to do it through masks (for a very long time since there are about 300 letters)
I tried to make all the letters in separate layers, also for a very long time :(
Are there any other options?
