How to make Far Cry 2 start normally when using SweetFX?

I want to remove this terrible brown filter from Far Cry 2.
I installed SweeFX versions 1.4 and 1.5 and my game does not start, first it shows the desktop, then a black screen, and so it constantly loops - desktop -> black screen.
Maybe try an older version of the game? Or another program like SweetFX? Or a ready-made graphic mod somewhere to download?
Terrible default color palette in the game!
