How to make DP to HDMI adapter work?

The point seems to be simple. There is a usual vidyakha gtx 970, with 3 ***** miniDP ports. Cables die, and new ones cost a lot (well, mini if ​​I ruin it and won't need it). And not all monitors have DP.
But here's the catch. I also tried a direct miniDP to HDMI cable, I tried it with several adapters from alik. But the monitor is stupidly not visible to the system.
It's not about converting hdmi to displayport, but just the opposite. You need something that should work without dancing with tambourines - but in the end it does not work at all.
Tried on several monitors, all 1080p.
