How to connect a monitor with d-sub (vga) to a laptop with hdmi?
I have a Lenovo laptop and an old LG monitor. The laptop has an output for an external monitor - hdmi, and the monitor has only a d-sub (vga) input. I saw hdmi-vga adapter cables, but as far as I know, a digital signal goes through hdmi, and analog through vga. Doesn't a cable like this need a converter? Help to understand the problem, please.

yes, you need a converter, unfortunately it is not cheap
(example, besprovodnoe.ru/aktivniy_perehodnikkonverter_hdmi_na_vga_i_audio.html )
Converters are also cheaper - you can find compact converters on ebay for ~ $ 20.
7 bucks and about a month of waiting

On ali it says:
"This cable can't directly use for PC connection to TV. Please check carefully before your order!
Please make sure your computer's HDMI port has analog output function when using HDMI port."
There are converters, it's not just adapters, it's a device that converts one video signal to another. vgahdmi.ru/catalog/konvertery--preobrazovateli--pe... I took it here myself, the price tags are sane. Now, in my opinion, there are already converters from any signal, what was previously simply unthinkable to connect, in the sense of an analogue with a digital and vice versa, is now quite real and workable, and without loss in quality.
