How to make an IBM server quieter?
Good day to all. Available IBM System x3250 M3/IntelXeon X3430/2.40GHz. The machine makes noise like crazy. I know this is quite natural for servers, but being in the same room with him is quite stressful. I would like to somehow reduce the level of noise emitted by it. Inside, 3 coolers were found: 1 goes to the processor, 2 to the PSU.
There are no plans for heavy loads on the server, since it is used only for general education in this area, but it will take some time to work with it, and therefore I would like to somehow increase the comfort of life with it.

According to the manual , there should be 5 coolers +1 per bp. If at least one is missing, then all the rest are transferred to maximum speed. The way out is to buy and install the missing coolers.
Xeon X3430 is like 1156 socket. For him, you can find a regular tower cooler.
If it works out, just remove the top cover of the case, if not, think about how to transplant the motherboard into a regular case.
PSU or replace, or something collective farm with cooling.
As far as I'm familiar with IBM servers, when turned on, they run the fans at full speed. After the processor service and / or OS starts, the fan speeds begin to be controlled and decrease. If "reduced" noise interferes with you, then there is nothing to do with it. But if it simply does not decrease - usually due to some kind of malfunction, and something needs to be replaced.
