How to make an external drive appear as external?

Question on topic. I found an external hdd drive that is 2 years old or a little more. Seagate 1 TB. It is defined in the win 10 system as local, but I want to use it as a flash drive. How to change?

no need to change anything. it is most likely displayed correctly, but this is just the "name" of the disk,
well, you can only format it

to use 'like a flash drive' is not to be afraid that data will be lost during extraction?
in the properties of the disk, look for equipment - your disk - caching policy, remove the checkbox 'allow write caching'
, the speed of working with the disk will become slower (for small files it is very noticeable), but if the write operation is visually completed on the screen, then you can eject the disk even without pressing ' extract' in the tray.
ps if the disk is not displayed as external and there is no button in the tray - safe removal, then you can force it to be set as external in the registry,
here is an article describing the reverse process, instead of the value 1 you need to put 0 for the desired
