How to make a smart TV out of a TV set?

It has all kinds of inputs, outputs, connectors, and so on.
there is some kind of custom firmware with which you can connect to the Internet, flash drives, etc.
But through the TV itself, there is no way to go to the Internet, although there is a YouTube application that does not work.
