How to make a laser rangefinder?
How to make a laser rangefinder? I am very interested in this topic. I want to assemble my own laser rangefinder using the triangulation principle of distance measurement (in plans). I decided to look for circuits, but found only scraps (such as power supply, comparator, etc.). The problem is to find the FPU circuit (photodetector). And in general, the complete scheme of the simplest laser rangefinder. Help me find.
Thank you for your attention!
ps just not arduino, just not with a webcam

Have you tried googling "laser rangefinder triangulation" or something like that?
one of the first links will show you a disassembly of such a "gadget" https://habrahabr.ru/post/274879/
Well, serious rangefinders still work according to other principles - the pulse detects how long the reflected light will return (you need a very accurate timer, expensive ) and the phase modulates the beam and measures the phase shifts (you need a processor).
