In most cases, a poppy is just throwing money away. An average macbook for 120-140 thousand will be somewhat weaker in hardware than an
average ibm-compatible laptop for 30-40 thousand
and poppy spends 70% of its income on marketing, and marketing works, suckers are being carried out, if they spent this money on programmers, maybe it would turn out normal, and not just another freeBSD clone hung with an excessive amount of ruffles)
PS In general, I don’t care what to work on, the programmer only needs a text editor with highlighting and a console (ideally bash), which is even on the latest Windows, the front-ender still has a set of browsers - Chrome (or analogues), Firefox, MSEdge (oh Windows is needed .. .)

For ios development, the presence of a poppy is uncontested, because the entire development environment is only available for OS X and emulators are extremely slow.
There are no objective advantages for web development imho. Vagrant doesn't care where to put it.
If you want a laptop, you can simply justify it by its characteristics - it's more reliable, the battery is better, the screen, etc.
I have a lot of acquaintances who at the corporate level have selected poppies as iron, while they put Windows on them because it’s more convenient and familiar.

1) If sensible guidance, then no way. There are no differences in web development on different platforms. Unless in the way of setting the environment and choosing an IDE.
2) If you really want to amuse your CSF, then you can push the guide to buy a MAC only with the fact that everything-out-of-the-box + higher performance. BUT! If they ask for differences from a laptop in the same price range. You won't find. Unless the screen matrix can be a bit worse.

on the poppy, I noticed - unicode encoding in Russian file names is buggy - the letters Y and Y split into two parts
, a crutch is needed in the code that will correct these letters
, for example - copied the folder name and pasted it into the editor:
MAMP - good - very convenient - works out of the box immediately
tried to install analogs on Windows - didn’t like anything, maybe I didn’t search well
on a poppy, it’s just more convenient to work
and there are no viruses

No way. MacOs can be set to "not poppy" and vice versa. If we are talking about a laptop, then, based on our own observations, the poppy is prettier, a more tenacious battery. The screen could be better. But it stands like a small plane ...

There were both right and wrong answers. Let me just say this fact: Apple products are much! depreciates more slowly. And if you want to sell a laptop from Apple and any other in a year, then the first one can be sold for almost the same price.
