Should I upgrade MBPro_Retina_Late_2013_8Gb_RAM from Mavericks to Sierra?

I am developing software on MBPro Retina Late 2013, 8 Gb RAM. I don't use Apple applications (but I always use PyCharm, iTerm2, Firefox/Vivaldi, Parallels, double-commander, HomeBrew, python, redis, mongodb, skype, etc.). Will an upgrade from my current Mavericks give me something? Does Sierra eat more RAM?
PS
The laptop hangs tightly a couple of times a month (hardware problem?);
Mac less than two years old, I consider myself a beginner;
I don't have any other apple devices.

The most obvious advice is to wait for the first update. Never put something very fresh.

Siera is one of the smoothest upgrades on the Mac.
Minor problems, not fundamental ones, occasionally occur, I think that with the first update they will also disappear.
But I do not see falls and crashes.
You can wait for the release of the first service pack.

I have a MacBook Pro 13 "mid 2012. I upgraded to Sierra. Three times in a week the laptop went into reboot, after showing a gray screen. El Captain never had such problems. Unfortunately, I didn’t think of making a backup copy or just testing system on a different partition of the disk.You can install, but leave the option to rollback.All the difference between Sierra and El Captain comes down to the presence of Siri and the acceleration of the right menu (the one that opens with two fingers from the right side of the trackpad).I did not notice any other difference I don’t see the point as such in the update

This laptop works great for me on Sierra. No deterioration was noted.
Update.
In turn, for statistics, tell me - how are you, the anti-glare does not peel off? And then there is a problem on the Internet, but among friends - not a single one. Just wondering

Nafig it is needed, the RAM may not eat anymore, but they cut out support for win <10 in bootcamp, pptp in vpn, both of my laptops stopped turning off after the update, I updated one from 10.10, and the other from 10.11, well, in general, I press the shutdown but it does not turn off, just a black screen. In general, I have already sold my imac and I will try to leave this epl, I don’t like their policy lately, at first they began to sculpt shovels instead of phones, then they cut out the jack from the iPhone, then they removed all the ports from the firmware, I have a 2013 firmware, so I connected two external monitors to it via DP, as a full-fledged system unit works, and now some trinkets, I have to turn on the flash drive through an adapter.
