How to install Windows on an old computer?
Hello. I made a bootable USB flash drive using an ISO image of Windows 7 and the UltraISO program. On my new computer, I can successfully boot from it and install the system, and on another old computer, where Windows XP used to be, the following error flies out:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert you Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
File: \Boot\BCD
Status: 0xc000000e
Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data.
How to fix it and finally install Windows on an old computer?

I would first of all try to change the mode of operation of the hard disk in the bios settings
It is not clear whether the installation was successful or whether this error crashes at the stage of booting from a USB flash drive.
Try:
1. prepare a USB flash drive with the native utility https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-u...
2. evaluate the hardware configuration (for example, the hard drive controller may not be supported by windows 7)
3. test memory \ hdd of the old computer.
PS I messed up the order again, do it in order 3-2-1 :D
If your old iron is dead, then nothing will work.
What is the reason for the reinstall? Old PC config?
There was an experience of installing Windows 7 on old hardware (Socket 478 and others like it). The error was about the same. Installing in the usual way did not work. It helped to expand the partition with Windows 7 already installed on the hard drive in the old computer.
