How to install PHP 5.4 on Ubuntu Server 14.04?

I installed Ubuntu Server 14.04 on a virtual machine and planned to raise the LAMP stack there. I wanted to use PHP 5.4 in it, but from the options that I found, nothing works. I wanted to use https://launchpad.net/~ondrej/+archive/ubuntu/php5... , but as I see it, PHP itself is not specifically for this version of the system. Well, actually trying to add this ppa, nothing happened.
Can anyone advise something?
PS . I also tried to build it myself from the source, but errors were constantly pouring in and I didn’t find how to connect to Apache either.
