If there is a task to store a link to an object from another database and at the same time display it on the forms according to the views, then I would take the path of creating an additional reference for external data . Make the name identical to the one in the external database and it will also be a representation. Then save the connection path to another database, the type of metadata and the GUID from the link - using the last two entities, you can get a link to the element on the other side during a COM connection. When selecting an element on other forms, you can first, by applying a metadata filter, select the elements of the desired type already saved in the first database and add the ability to request an already complete selection in the external database.
