How to implement an arduino connection to the site?

The question arose, what is the best way to implement two-way communication, that is, output and input of information from a remote site to arduino? Is it enough to connect the LAN port to the arduino and process everything with a Php script on the server?

Depending on what you need to get from him, if you want a web face with whistles, then you can forget, if you need an API interface for management, then you can, for example, such a module is installed and in the examples for it there is a "web server" sketch that can work as an API for managing the module . Naturally, the web server must be located separately, on a full-fledged machine or something like that, and it must have a connection with the ip on which the duinya will hang.
