How to host an Android app on GitHub?

I am learning mobile development for android. I want to put the application on GitHub.
What is usually left in a repository? Would it be ok to leave only the folder app, files .gitignoreand readme.md?
In this case, how will another developer deploy a clone of my project at home? What is the analogue npm installin the world of Android?
