How to get started as a beginner in Adobe Illustrator?

There are many sites with many tutorials, secrets, tips and other recommendations for working in illustrator. From all this you get lost and you cannot, because of ignorance, concentrate your attention on something specific. I would like to hear advice from experienced people. How to start learning Adobe Illustrator? What good resources will help a beginner understand how to make friends with this program?

I don’t know about resources, I learned everything myself.
Now I just leaf through different mailing lists from time to time and try to do each job a little differently and look for more convenient methods.
In the beginning, I just did coloring pages. Those. I just drew contours, trying to bring to mind that they would flow smoothly and change the thickness. Then he began to redraw vector clipart, trying to make it no worse, so who did it...
Ie . I think for starters just learn how to draw contours normally, and the rest will catch up one by one.
It is pointless to go into "secrets" and other subtleties right away if there is no "base".

It all depends on what you want to achieve. You can do dozens of different things in Illustrator, with your own requirements, your own tricks, and so on. The study of any tool in the general case is not memorization of techniques, but an understanding of what this tool can do. And then you can bring the use of some tools to automatism.

Maybe it's too late, but I'll answer anyway.
I started with video tutorials on the Adobe site https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator.html
Sometimes I look for something on youtube. There are lessons for all Adobe packages from Video2Brain, Infinite Skills and Lynda. All of them are in English.

Here is a sensible article https://artempo.tilda.ws/blog/start-learning-ai
It describes the very basic base that you need to master in order to move on later
