How to get Docker working on OSX via iTerm2?

Installed DockerToolbox 1.8.1.b It works
through a standard terminal. Through iTerm2, when docker gives a list of commands, for example
docker ps:
Get http:///var/run/docker.sock/v1.20/containers/json: dial unix /var/run/docker.sock: no such file or directory.
* Are you trying to connect to a TLS-enabled daemon without TLS?
* Is your docker daemon up and running?

Most likely you have different profiles loaded in the terminal and in iTerm2. Compare what the command shows here and there printenv.
