How to fix "Windows has detected a bad hard drive" error?
Aspire 5942G laptop - a freshly installed system at startup gives an error "Windows has detected a hard disk failure". I'm sure it's not the HDD because I installed another and the same thing. Controller?

The error occurs when the SMART data received from the disk is in bad condition. The controller cannot influence this (unless the SMART command somehow fails).
Check the values in CrystalDiskInfo:
If you are sure that the problem is not with the disk (the problem may be with another installed disk, if any), the alert can be disabled in the Group Policy Editor (Admin. Templates -> System -> Diagnostics -> Disk Diagnostics -> Disable both.)
