How to fix window size in VLC Player?

Somehow the update went through and there was a problem. For example, I used to want to find a movie for the evening, and each open movie opened in the window size in which I set it myself, but now each movie opens in its own size and spreads across the screen, I have to shrink the window every time to a size that is convenient for me, especially if I watch YouTube. I rummaged through the settings, which I just didn’t set, set the previous versions, nothing helped.
