How to find out which font is paid and which is not?
This situation, I really liked the font and I decided to download it, but then I wondered about the license under which it is distributed. Deciding to google, I did not find this font for sale and it is freely available almost everywhere, but I am tormented by vague doubts that it can be paid. How to stop being paranoid and humanly check the license?

If you don’t know what kind of license a font has, go to its author’s website, you are guaranteed to find the right answer. The creators of the font are often indicated in the name itself (PT - ParaType, PF - Parachute, ALS - ArtLebedevStudio, etc.), in general, Google will always tell you;)
You can also go to myfonts.com, almost all commercial (less often free) fonts are presented there. The price indicated means that the license is paid, but sometimes the font can have a discount of up to 100%.
100% free licenses have all fonts from here: www.fontsquirrel.com But you have to see if commercial use is allowed.
But the best way is still to read on the website of the author of a particular headset. If it is not on official sale, then only the creator has guaranteed correct information about the license.
Take fonts only from google font
https://github.com/google/fonts
look for the item in the description "free for commerce" either in direct text or with an icon
FontCreator to help you. It's easy to fix everything and create your own font.
