How to find out the maximum amount of supported laptop RAM?
Hello. I have a Lenovo Y570 laptop with a Core i5-2430M 2.4GHz processor. There are 2 sticks of RAM: 4 gig and 2 gig in total 6 (Ddr3-1066, ddr3-1333 SDRAM)
I want to buy a stick for 8 gigabytes and replace it with 2 gigabytes, but the seller said that on my laptop a maximum of 8 gigabytes of memory is supported . I went into AIDA64 and looked that the maximum supported memory is 16 gigabytes, but the seller claims that this data is not accurate and the bar may not work.
On some sites it is written that the maximum support for the memory of my laptop is a maximum of 8 gigabytes.
Tell me, is it possible to somehow find out this information more precisely, so as not to miscalculate with the purchase? Thank you.

As I understand it, Lenovo themselves will not find this information? It happens! Although they should be the source of the most accurate information. Then there are two viable options.
1) Passive. Expect that among the readers there is an owner of such a laptop who has a positive or negative experience with installing an 8 gigabyte die. But this may not be expected.
2) Active. Arrange for a performance test before buying memory. Or negotiate the possibility of returning the purchased. Or contact some service, maybe they have a plate to check.

Datasheet on third-party site says 8 GB:

Set it and don't worry
I set it, it flies
normally I remember hynix set 2x8
Check the processor manufacturer's website for the maximum amount of RAM for your processor.
