How to extract the whole content from the mass of nameless broken files without extension?
From a damaged hard drive, the program pulled out a set of files without names and without extensions, for the most part broken, in places the contents can be mixed (say, half of the DOC file is added to half of the JPG file). What programs exist to search such a garbage heap for meaningful content? Say, so that you can find and copy PDF files even if a dozen files are merged into one? If there are none, maybe there are simpler programs that could determine the file type and give it the correct extension?

If in general, it's better as advised by zamboga
But if you really want to experiment, then you can try to determine the file type yourself by the so-called " magic signature " of the file.
There are various programs that can determine the type of a file by its contents.
One of them is TriID .
The same site also has HdRen , which can rename files in batch mode so that you can see what type they are.
But you need to understand that the files can be incomplete.
If the data is critical, it is better to give it to specialists until the disk is completely damaged.
