How to draw websites on a grid?

Hello, please help me with one issue. How to start drawing a layout in Photoshop on a grid? I'm wondering if there are any standards for this? Or is there no difference how many px , is it not so critical? What about adaptive layout? I looked at a bunch of material and everything is different for everyone. There is a grid of 960px, and there is 1200px... Someone has some kind of indentation that is incomprehensible, someone does not understand where the workspace begins... help, explain...

At least 960px is the resolution of tablets, netbooks 1024x768, we don’t take retina.
Then it depends on the device and type of design, if adaptive, then you need to draw the layout by squeezing to 320px
, you can draw one intermediate option at 640px, for example, for the horizontal orientation of the smartphone.
In this case, the grid is needed to maintain the proportions of objects and indents when scaling.

In general, in order to draw well on a grid, you need to learn HTML + CSS3 layout, then everything will fall into place)
