How to disable command line in Midnight Commander?

in MC, as you know, below the panels there is a command line, which sometimes gets "garbage": some random clicks and symbols. Then, when you go to the directory, this "garbage" is perceived by him as a command in the console and instead of moving to another directory, you get a black screen and waiting for input. How to disable command line or how to fix it at all?
