How to make aliases work inside subshell Midnight Commander?

There are many useful aliases in ~/.profile, but they do not work from under mc (Ctrl-O). Please tell me what to do to make it work. Maybe for subshell mc you can create your own analogue of .profile?

What shell does mc run with? Apparently not with the one that executes .profile
