How to determine that the application has closed? Firefox for example?

I have a task. You need to commit your Firefox profile every time you close it. How to understand that FF has closed? I will not constantly monitor it in the processes. Because the user can turn on the machine, but not start the browser and do something else, or, on the contrary, run Firefox several times a day.

How to understand that FF has closed?

Check if it is in the list of running processes.
So no one forces you to use the simplest solution. Then write a plugin for FF that will do the things you need when you close FF. Or make changes to the FF source code and add the desired functionality. There is nothing over the top there.
