How to deal with a customer on Upwork?

Hello everyone, I ran into a problem with the customer, running into the front no matter what the questions were .. On Upwork for about a year or more, 100% JSS, all reviews are 5.0, top rated.
I'll try not to paint for a long time, I signed up for a trifling job, the budget was $40 after the layout was viewed and the conversation on Skype agreed on $60. The client asked for everything to be cool and look great on the retina screen. After examining the layout, I said that it doesn’t smell like retina here, in order to make retina-ready images in high resolution needed. To which he said ok, we do it without, just so that everything is like on the layout. We agreed, after 5 hours the work was ready. He said that everything is super and he likes it, but the graphics are blurred on his screen (retina of course) To which I replied that I would change it without question when there are retina-ready pictures and ideally icons in SVG, then he said ok and went to the designer to solve this issue, a designer came a couple of days later, sent everything over again, but then it was not so smooth. In SVG, a regular PNG was wrapped, and the pictures remained as they were 900 by 500, to which I said that this was not suitable and talked a little in high tones directly with the designer (in a personal chat 1: 1). As a result, everyone disappeared for a day and when I wrote to the customer "what news" he said that I did a bad job and we got stuck because of you and I INTEND TO PAY HALF. Then I received a notification that the contract was closed and they gave me only $40 bucks out of the agreed $60 so I also asked for a $20 refund. I opened a dispute immediately and he withdrew a refund and paid all $40 he said i did a bad job and we got stuck because of you and i INTEND TO PAY HALF. Then I received a notice that the contract was closed and they gave me only $40 bucks out of the agreed $60 so I also asked for a $20 refund. But I'm worried about what to do with the remaining $20 and where to run to take it all. Here is a question of principle and the question that it may not be $40 but $400 next time, and the customer turns out to have the right to close the project without any problems and send as much as he wants, and then you run to challenge. What to do in such a situation and how to get all the money?
UPD #1 I pressured him with a support and said that I would not allow myself to be thrown at money for an honest job (everything was done for 5+, all the wishes specified in the job descr were met) So I go to the support and take all $ 60
Then I sent the remaining 20 :)
UPD # 2 I still leave the question, since many have signed up and in order to know how to behave if not the entire amount was transferred and the customer, for example, disappeared.
UPD#3Customer Amerikos $10'000 spent (and the reviews are ok, which is really amazing) and the stick shoots once a year as they say

From my own experience, I will say that there is a chance to run into problems precisely on cheap orders. I also have 100% JSS and all but one are 5.0 reviews. One is just the one where I decided to relax and take a trifling job for $20, well, in principle, nothing like yours, but the client wanted me to teach her to do it herself from above :) I even tried to explain in general terms " how to draw an owl ".. in short, only six months later, she showed up and closed the contract for
4.6
In short, I'll think a few more times, agree to a kind of easy "job for a couple of hours."

I would advise you not to get into an argument over such trifles, Moderate your ardor.
Sometimes it's easier to forgive and let go.
I had one, for $ 100 work, like everything is "ok", but I set it to 4.5.
I returned the money along with his 4.5, and left my 5 points - TOPratad - and I do not regret it.
And yes, boots are constantly coming across, nothing can be done.
