How to crop part of a circle in Photoshop?

Hello. The situation is this - I drew a circle in Photoshop, removed the fill, left the stroke, now you need to delete part of the circle without removing the smart object property from it. Screenshot attached for clarity. Thanks in advance.

Add a clipping mask to this part.

1) rasterize the shape (layer->rasterize->shape).
2) make a rectangle using the "rectangular area" or "selection" tool (see picture).
3) then take the eraser and erase the selected area.
4) Profit!
