How to crop background using svg shape?

I read about SVG and in the end I don’t understand how to implement a figure to crop the background to it. I usually always did everything through css.
If anyone knows how and can help me?

It is enough to throw a picture on the back svg of the figure. You can also make 2 white triangles on pure css, without svg at all, you can fill svg with white and overlay it on the image.
