How to create an external IP for a home server?

My server is connected to the network through a router. What is the easiest way to organize access to the server by IP from the Internet? I heard this can be done somehow through VPN or TeamViewer or logmein hamachi. Advise the simplest scheme for this or a ready-made program.

Option 1
Buy a permanent IP from your ISP.
On average, about 150 rubles per month.
And configure one of your site's subdomains to it, for example, home.example.ru
If we are talking about TeamViewer, then use "Uncontrolled access" in its settings and follow the instructions. If in the end it will be too lazy to remember "Your ID", then register an account in TW and link your computer to it. Then you can connect to it from anywhere in the world. Of course, if your server is on Windows.
Via VPN - it's complicated and slow. But if you really want to, then:

  • the router must be able to work with VPN as a server
  • You must have a permanent IP, or a dynamic type "DynDNS" (there are free services already entered in your router settings in the Dynamic DNS section.
  • you will need to remember your IP or the long domain name of the selected Dynamic DNS service

Radmin server + Radmin Viver are where to download Google at a time)) along with a crack ...
Read the instructions for your router (or provide a router model)
There you need to find out:
1- Your external IP if it is not dynamic, of course (such as any Megagon and Eggmodems )
2- Add permission to enter from outside by port ... (The port you need can be set in the Radmin server settings .... also configure access rights and password for it ..) specify for the router where (your IP local computer in a network like 192.168.0.100)
3-Reboot the router with saving.

option 1:
go to the site no-ip.com (option dyn-dns.com), register there, download the necessary software for your OS and run it.
In this case, it is advisable to add to some script every five minutes to contact no-ip.com so that the connection does not hang when the provider changes the ip-address.
option 2:
rent a VirtualPrivatServer (for example, on DigitalOcean) and set up a server with VirtualPrivatNetwor there. You can use both OpenVPN and SSH. will cost about 5 greenbacks a month.
PS: having suffered with the unreliability of option 1 and crushing the toad, I switched to option 2. So far, I'm happy with everything. In addition, there was also an opportunity to zababahat your WEB-server.
