How to create an alternative MacBook charging case?

I had one idea here: to make an alternative snap-on case for macbook charging, so that you can change the dead wire without using pliers and glue.
I had no business with 3D printing and scanning before. There is access to the Artec Eva scanner and MakerBot and SLA EDP-4 printers.
What is the best way to make a model for the body? Scan and finish or everything from scratch?
What software is usually used for this?
Well, in general, how gemorno will it implement? :)
