How to create a video slideshow from pictures in the console?

Good afternoon,
The task is to make high-quality video slideshows from pictures, this whole process needs to be automated somehow, so I hope to find some kind of console video editor.
I tried ffmpeg - it turns out not very high quality, in a similar question I saw advice on oggSlideshow - it is under Windows, this is an extreme option.
An ideal output example: Youtube - you need to get as close to it as possible + automate.
I would be grateful for any advice on where to dig in this matter, thank you!
