How to split video frames into 2 halves
The bottom line: a DVR with two cameras writes pictures from the cameras into one file. Pictures are located one above the other, i.e. vertically.

Sorry for the long reaction and answer
VirtualDub "out of the box" does not know how to work with the video format and sound, in relation to this video.
Mencoder turned out to be a salvation - the declared capabilities solved the problem.
But... the binary didn't show up right off the bat...
And the solution was found in the sister project Tencoder , which uses the mentioned
mencoder
