What do you think about video editing on a computer via remote access from a laptop?
1. How comfortable will it be?
2. What filling of the laptop is enough for this?
3. What speed should mobile Internet access have at the same time?
Lyrics.
There is a friend who edits amateur videos and films. Unfortunately, he is far from technology and careful handling, from time to time he even loses something or is stolen from him. His current laptop died a heroic death. There is a question about acquiring a new one, and since he likes to edit video on the go, in between his other business in different parts of the city, he only wants a laptop and does not want to hear about a powerful home system unit.
He has thirty thousand money, but I want him to spend it more efficiently in every sense.
Therefore, I came up with the idea of a bunch of powerful home computers and a cheap laptop, with the help of which I can perform all video editing via remote access.
Pluses - reduction of time during installation due to a more powerful stuffing of the system unit, data safety in case of theft / loss of the laptop, the possibility of a gradual upgrade of the system unit.
Cons - trouble with the transfer of footage to the system unit, dependence on the Internet.
In general, I will be glad for any answers on the topic)

For 30 thousand, he will take just a cheap laptop that he will not want to throw into the trash can immediately after purchase.
Well, ok, for 25.
In general, no, it's not convenient at all. At a speed of ten megabits, even x2go and rdesktop (which, it seems, are the fastest "remote desktops") slow down on video (even on viewing) like hell. Mobile Internet more than a dozen is a pipe dream. So it will be 2-3 megabits, which is definitely not enough.
