How to copy a file from a disk with bad blocks?

Brother brought a hard drive. Important information was stored on the desktop (oh my god).
The disk with does not open in any way, BUT on disk D I found a folder WindowsImageBackup 55 gigs in size, I assume that it contains files from the desktop. there is a .vhd disk image inside, but when copying after a third of the file, it throws an input / output hdd error.

Preliminarily inspect the printed circuit board of the hard drive (it must be unscrewed). Reading errors can be caused by oxidized contacts on the inside of the board where the contacts of the reading heads adjoin.
It is necessary to carefully clean the oxides with, for example, an eraser, and wipe with alcohol.

After the physical cleaning, you need to boot from the livecd and walk through the disk using Victoria. Be sure to mark the action with bad sectors: Remap.
After that, do a scandisk to drive C (turn off the "Check disk surface" item!).
After all the operations, booting from livecd again, try to open the C drive and copy the files.
ps All actions you perform at your own peril and risk.
