How can I connect a SAS disk to a regular PC?
I inherited a SAS disk, but I can't connect it.
I was looking for adapters to use it as an external one - I found only similarities of a server.
If I understand correctly, then SATA is slower, and USB is even worse, which makes a hard one from 12gb / s ~ 5,
Could you advise how it can be used to the maximum?
If for this you need to assemble some kind of server or storage for 5k - can it just be connected like an external drive with some kind of SAS-SATA-USB connectors?

Try to squeeze at least 2 Gbps out of one mechanical 7200rpm at least in pure seqscan. Then already talk about "SATA is slower, and USB is even worse"
You need a SAS controller. I doubt that they exist in the format of an external disk. Although somewhere you can look for the Chinese, and sometimes this is not the case.
The speed of
usb3, in my opinion, is about 500 megabits per second, the speed of mechanical disks is about 200+ megabits per second, that is, even USB overlaps two and a half times .
Most likely there is no way to connect, since there are no cheap household adapters, and the prices for non-household ones are such that it’s easier to buy a couple of regular external sites for 2tb and there will still be change
