How to connect to Wi-Fi adapter in VMware/VirtualBox virtual machine?

Good afternoon! Please tell me if it is possible inside a VMware or VirtualBox guest virtual machine to access the Wi Fi adapter and connect to it. For example, to scan the network of routers in the office or something like that. I re-read a bunch of forums but did not find a solution whether such an adapter could be forwarded inside a virtual machine.
